Enjoying Our 3D World

GS-TD1 3D consumer camcorderWe’re having a lot of fun with our 3D camcorder. Not many people realise that the GS-TD1 is the world’s first 3D consumer camcorder, but JVC is very proud of the fact.

We get some funny looks when we point it at people – the ‘binocular’ lenses are a bit attention-grabbing to say the least, but as soon as they realise what it is they get really interested. Also, being able to show people the results on the built-in display without the need for 3D glasses is a definite bonus.

Full product details are available here on the site of course, but the hands-on experience is coming to events around the country in the next couple of months, including The Gadget Show at the NEC in April.

Five Stars From What Hi-Fi?

It’s really satisfying to see how much people are rating our 3D projectors. We’ve had great reviews across the range, which we think is worth noting - we’re not just throwing all the good stuff into the highest-price products.

Click here to see the What Hi-Fi? review of the DLA-X3. It is a great example of the kind of comments we’re seeing - it’s good to know that the work going into the products is translating into the user's experience.

A Perspective on Our 3D Projectors

DLA-X7

JVC has built up a great reputation in projectors for years, but since we added 3D units to the range, we seem to have raised our own bar. Take the DLA-X7 for example. Obviously we think it’s great, but it’s always good to see other people saying good things about it too.

A few weeks ago, it was comprehensively reviewed by Phil Hinton for AVForums, who noted that we’ve yet to drop the ball in “producing some of the finest HD consumer projectors on the market,” and added that the DLA-X7 “continues [our] lineage of outstanding home projectors”.

Of course, it’s easy for us to take lines like that out of context the way cinema posters do, so check out Phil’s full review - it really does cover every aspect of the kit; hardware and software alike. The AVForums reviews are definitely aimed at the technically aware audience, and we’re very happy that they’re getting such in-depth analysis.

Coming Up In April

This month, as well as showing off loads of products (including the GS-TD1 above) at The Gadget Show Live, we have plenty of new products arriving, including brand new Gumy headphones amongst others, two new in-car systems, and a pair of new in-home audio systems.

We’ll be posting them here at JVC Latest as soon as they’re available, so check back regularly.

Product Round-Up

As we’ve been switching things around here recently, we didn’t want you to miss the new products that arrived during March. They’re all available on the site here via the Product Finder (top right of this page).

We have the new FX22 range of headphones, a new portable player (which we call the RV-NB70) - in silver or black, and for the first time we’re also including in-car products.

We’ll be posting in advance on new items arriving throughout April, so check back here within the next couple of days for further information.

Getting out and about

The Gadget Show

Like most people, being stuck in the office all day is not our ideal, which is partly why we enjoy the JVC event programme so much. As well as getting us out from behind our desks, these events get us on the road and in front us our customers.

The events cycle is pretty non-stop. Right now we’re completing our review of the Focus on Imaging event, which started the weekend of 4th March. It’s Europe’s largest imaging show, so we focused (no pun intended) on our camera and camcorder audiences. At the same time, we’re also neck-deep in planning for The Gadget Show Live at the NEC, Birmingham, from the 13th-17th April. The Gadget Show is a massive event and we always have a good time meeting people there.

We’ll be announcing details on what we’re doing at the show between now and the event, but to give you a hint: 3D Camcorder. Keep checking back for more updates.

Introducing the new-look JVC Latest

JVC

For those of you who are familiar with this site - and for those not - welcome to the new JVC Latest.

We’ve relaunched JVC Latest to provide better access to the content you need. For example, instead of one big product update each month, we’re going to be adding products on the day they become available, which means you’ll always have access to the latest product data right here.

Furthermore, we want to keep you completely up-to-date regarding JVC news, information on events we’ll be attending, and content about our technology and thinking.

As well as a resource for JVC content, we want to make this site a place where you can engage with us directly, so we’ll also be introducing opportunities for interaction and adding features to make it easier for you to find the right information.

JVC Latest is going to be more dynamic, to provide a better service for everyone who wants to know what we’ve got going on. We hope that you’ll not only find this site useful, but enjoy it too.
